The first permanent kinetic lighting installation in a hospitality venue in Scotland.

As Encore is a basement venue, up entry the first impressions are in the stairwell. With it being a six metre high ceiling this lent itself to some form of multi-faceted, large hanging light installation. This idea was developed upon, with the suggestion of kinetic lighting technologies. Given the space constraints a design was drawn up to include eight motorised lighting fixtures. A custom frame was designed and installed to allow rigging of the units. To add variation and interest two sizes of globe were used, each globe containing an RGBW LED source. Safety cut-outs were implemented into the design setting a maximum drop height for each motors position. Effect programming was the implemented using an ADJ wolf-mix controller and gave the client easily re-callable static and moving scenes depending on the time of day and desired effect.
